Can You Vlog on Canon EOS 750D (Rebel T6i)?

Canon EOS 750D (aka Rebel T6i) is an excellent mid-range DSLR camera. It comes with a 3-inch touch screen vari-angle LCD monitor. In other words, it has a flip screen, which makes it convenient for vlogging. So you can vlog on the Canon EOS 750D (Rebel T6i) DSLR camera.

There are many reasons why the Canon EOS 750D isn’t a bad choice for vlogging and YouTube beginners who are just getting started or want to upgrade their video recording setup.

One of the reasons why I like the Canon EOS 750D is the affordability. If you’re looking for a good-quality DSLR camera under $500, then it’s a perfect choice. However, the price may fluctuate from time to time, but it won’t be much more than that.

Can You Attach External Microphone With Canon EOS 750D?

Yes. You can attach an external microphone to your Canon EOS 750D. It has a 3.5mm stereo mini jack for attaching an external microphone.

I’ve tested several microphones for vlogging, but my absolute favorite brand is RODE. The RODE microphones have crispy and clear audio that makes the whole video experience much better for the viewers.

Is the Canon EOS 750D a Lightweight Camera?

There are several aspects of vlogging with a DSLR camera. One of them is how much the DSLR camera weighs. The Canon EOS 750D body weighs about 555g.

You might not want to vlog on a heavy DSLR camera that makes it difficult when you’re shooting a hand-held clip. Sometimes, vloggers need to shoot vlog clips on the go. And that’s where a lightweight DSLR camera comes in handy.

Can Canon EOS 750D Record Slo-Mo Footage for the Vlog?

The Canon EOS 750D DSLR camera can record 1280 x 720 at 59.94 fps. However, you can’t record 1920 x 1080 resolution video at 60 fps. Therefore, if you want to record slo-mo footage with your Canon EOS 750D, then you use the 1280 x 720p video resolution.

In my opinion, a 1920 x 1080p video at 60 fps could have been a bare minimum for making slo-mo footage for the vlog. The 1280 x 720p (at 60 fps) isn’t worth it.

Vlogging has different formats and styles. Some vloggers like to grab a point-and-shoot camera, press the record button, and start recording. While others may want to only use high-end SONY DSLR cameras for vlogging.

Similarly, slo-mo footage for the vlog might not be your cup of tea, but a lot of vloggers love to add slo-mo footage to their vlogs. Not only do slo-mo clips make footage aesthetically pleasing, but they also improve viewer retention.  

Can Canon EOS 750D Record a Timelapse for the Vlog?

It doesn’t matter what type of vlogs you make, there are specific video styles that you need to use at some point. One of them is a timelapse footage.

The Canon EOS 750D doesn’t have a built-in timelapse feature as of my knowledge. I did some digging and found out that every Rebel camera doesn’t have an internal intervalometer that makes timelapse recording possible.
